I need this boy bad. Missing out on him, Kyle, Milicic and Mast being out for the year is too much for me to handle...

I'm going to be completely honest I do not some of the hype. He's ok but his splits leave a lot to be desired. Then again if Mast is still getting paid we pry don't have much money to throw at another 4. And there's really no one worth anything left anyway.

2.2 and 2.4 fouls in roughly 16 minutes a game for Berke and Meah. We're not going to be able to keep these dudes on the court.

I have more hope for Berke to improve in that regard than Meah given that Berke has played way less college basketball.

The report is Berke was delayed because of eligiblity shit and then got hurt so maybe the hope is that he settles in with a more "normal" season. Another factor is UCLA's offense was straight trash (I think this applies to Griffiths and Rutgers too) so the hope is that if you put him in a real offensive system he will flourish.

He could definitely end up being a nonfactor though because there isn't really strong evidence in any direction for how he will play

Berke was hurt, believe hand and ankle, plus missed games at the beginning of the season due to them verifying the eligibility. He was a Top 40 recruit in the 2023 Class and many had him as a 1 & Done. I pulled up some of his old highlights from his international play and it was quite impressive. Looks like a good athlete for his size with a sweet stroke from deep, and he isn't afraid of contact either. If Kentucky and some other big time programs are after him plus Fred wants him then I'm All N.

Also from the money standpoint he along with Mast are foreign players so much like Keisei I think they are limited on NIL opportunities. Unless that changes with NIL I can see schools with smaller NIL $$$$ going after foreign players harder

Exactly - his highlights combined with what he was projected to be as a prospect gives me a semi-chub. Sure, he only scored 4 points a game last year. But I could easily see him in the 12-15 range next year with pieces like we currently have. Guy's like Worster, Gary and Meah are not going to be looking for a ton of shots a game. That's where Williams and someone like Berke could thrive.

I believe it’s been said that we’ve found ways around some of the foreign players and NIL regulations. Mast was on the biggest NIL deal of the entire team.

I think our experience in that area helps quite a bit to be honest. We will see.

I want this one.

Agree, we need scorers. GoTo players when needed. Last year we had Keisei, Mast & Williams as players they knew could create their shot or be a threat from deep when needed. Looking at our transfers plus returners I see the players who are more offensively skilled plus offensive minded that can put pressure on a defense when we need a critical basket as:

-6-7 Williams (PG/SG/SF)
-6-8 Griffiths (SG/SF/PF)
-6-4 Essegian (SG/SF)
-6-3 Janowski (SG) (Freshman so limiting expectations)
-6-9 Berke (PF/Center) if we get him

Last I heard 1890 was negotiating with his agents in Turkey. I think unless a big name school like Kentucky gets involved, he will be N.
Fingers crossed. Not sure who HCFH has as their Plan B Stretch 4. It's been fun following the recruiting and especially the Portal recruiting this year. Lots of difference makers changing teams and I really like our additions. Especially Griffiths as I can see him being drafted wit his athletic ability and length. Just need him to shine in our offense after some fine tuning by Fred. Meah is also a difference maker on defense with his blocked shots and defensive rebounding. Not sure we've had a player like him in a long long time
