I actually like Doeren more than a lot of the others on that list. He is a pretty solid coach with BIG experience and he grew up in the midwest.

While I could be sold on HC Campbell. He feels like a Mike Riley level hire. The reasons people are using to spin it to themselves feel like things people said about Mike Riley and even Scott frost to a point.

I’d rather take a risk on someone like Monken or chadwell than Campbell. I think Campbell would make us on the level of Minnesota and contend for division titles. So I mean I guess if that’s where we want to be stuck cool.
With all this money coming in and the fact our conference will almost certainly be the opposite coin of sec in the playoffs I’d rather shoot for the stars.

I think he would have the recruiting ties needed to make a big splash. Their offense is really balanced and maybe even run heavy when needed.
I’m not saying he is choice 1a. But I’d take him of Campbell personally.

I get what you’re saying. You hire a Campbell, you get a dude that will win a number of games, but you’re not going to get the next Saban, Urban, Dabo, etc. If you take a chance on someone, you may end up getting the next all-time great, as remote of a possibility as that might be.

I don't know. Campbell is only 42, so still young enough to embrace the changes coming. He built something out of nothing -- I'm not sure if the ceiling is his or Ames's.
