Michigan State safety Jaden Mangham has entered the NCAA transfer portal, Tater Island has learned.
Mangham spent two seasons with the Spartans, where he developed a reputation as a hard hitter. He started 12 games in total, racking up 73 tackles, four interceptions, three pass breakups and one fumble recovery.
While Mangham played some as a freshman, he didn’t have nearly the impact he would as a sophomore.
During the 2023 campaign, Mangham logged 53 tackles, a tackle for a loss, four interceptions, a fumble recovery and seven passes defended. He was disruptive and an impact player all the way around.

He probably is better than Buford and Singleton, Gifford may be a wash.

I keep waiting for a purge at DB. I think we are around 25 scholarship level DBs now and willing to add more. On top of that we need more CB depth too. It's a head scratcher for sure.

I wonder the extent of Singleton's injury I know they said he already tried to come back once and it didn't work out.

singelton was fire before he got hurt. we shall see if he comes back.
We do lose Buford, Singleton, and Gifford after this year. Bretz and Hartzog are our only returning upperclass in ‘25. I definitely see a gap with us needing someone in ‘25. I don’t know why he’d want to come here given the returning talent he’d have to compete with in ‘24 though.
