Hi Povich’s dad, talk to me in 3 years about Christo and Hood not being better than your son
You might want to slow your roll... JP has coached most of the Omaha kids at some point in time and has forgotten more about baseball than you could ever hope to know. I suggest you sit this one out and let the adults continue the discussion.

Not sure what this even means.

If you wanna project a team that’s lose its 2,3,4 hitters and it’s Friday, Saturday, and it’s closer with no obvious replacements for them as the 14th best in the nation you’re objectively stupid.

Not Povich's dad....

But you literally just proved my point. In 3 years, let's talk about whether or not Hood or Christo are a Friday night guy that is 'Much Better than a kid who went 6-1 on Friday nights, and Nebraska went 11-4 in any game he started'. What's 'much better', 4 more wins so we'd go 15-0? 14-1? I'm just trying to get a gauge for what 'much better than he ever was' means.

The point of this thread is 2022. Nebraska won't go 11-4 on Fridays with Hood or Christo on the mound in 2022. That's all I'm saying....its fine to be excited about the potential of those kids. To knock the impact that Povich had in 2021 is stupid though.
You took my post about Povich very very personally. Sorry for my opinion that Christo and Hood will be better players. Sorry that me saying “much better” got your panties in such a wad,

I didn’t take anything personally and my panties aren’t in a wad. I just called out that your post was dumb, and your response validates that.

How do you project our football team for next year? This year we went 3-9 and we are losing a four year starting QB, best offensive lineman, and a ton of super seniors on defense. I’m thinking we’re lookin 0-12 in the face.

There’s a long ways to go still before we talk about the football team as there are still players that will be added and removed from the roster.

The baseball team is set as there aren’t any players we’ll add. And the questions about replacing lost pitching production remain unanswered.

I put in a request for 4 season tickets a few months ago. Hope that helps.

And fwiw, I’m cautiously optimistic about the upcoming season but lean towards agreeing with @…TrueColors… that #14 is too high. We lost some key kids from last year.

.

You can count me in this category as well.

The rating shows respect and love that the respect was earned in 2 short years. I believe they'll improve as the season goes on.

Just too many key losses.

We might be affected more this year by not having mid week games last year when we think about it. Not many obvious pitching choices that should have pitched a lot of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday games last year.

I’ve not said this can’t be a good team. I’ve said it’s not the 14th best team in the nation and to project it to be better than last year is stupid. That doesn’t mean this team can’t win the Butthole Big Ten. You don’t have to have Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz lined up on perfect rest to win this shit conference.

Not for the '22 class, but missing on the two kids from Elkhorn South in the '23 class is not great. One is ranked in the top 25 for the '23 high school class and top 100 '23 draft class, which includes current college players, committed to Tennessee after Bolt refused to offer him as a freshman. Committed to UT basically the next week. Other kid is committed to Kentucky.
