Serious question: how is CU only favored -2.5? (5 Viewers)

This is going to be the worst TCU team since the 4-8 Patterson team in 2013
Maybe. Theyve got a lot of mediocre seasons mixed in with a couple really good ones. Hell they were 5-7 in 2021.

QB doesn't throw those two picks they score 56. Even against a bad defense that's good. They had 12 drives. Scored 6 TD's, 2 int, FG. So they drove the field 9/12 drives. QB had a handful of stupid throws but he's not a bad QB.

Their defense hasn't been great the last few years. It may be a little worse but I think they were surprised early and back on their heels the rest of the game. They probably aren't as bad as they played.

He had some really bad throws. There was one in the 2nd Q where he was running out of bounds to his right and he threw it back across his body into triple coverage. DB dropped it but should have been an interception. That's not just a bad throw that's horrendous.

The OL penalties I would forgive if they were staring down Suh and Reggie White...but this CU defense?

I agree though if they get things cleaned up they might outscore people in the Big 12 and go 6-6, maybe even 7-5. You're just not going to beat anyone decent committing 10 penalties. (And you have to be extra shitty to commit 10 penalties at home)

That was just a horrendous showing. To suggest that that particular team could go and beat a top half B1G team on the road is offensive.

They beat Minn maybe 2 or 3 times out of 10. Yes there were other bad throws. Threw 42 times. Bound to have a few bad ones. None as bad as those two picks though if they want to beat anyone with a pulse.

Funny thing is if you change 1 play in each game, NU wins narrowly and CU loses narrowly.

The interesting thought experiment is how would public opinion be different if NU won/ CU lost?

This is actually all a gift for Rhule & his team if they can take advantage of it. CU is deadly as an underdog/us against the world team. CU as the favorite is different for them. Honestly, Deion probably didn't think they'd be a favorite for a while, but here they are.

Now Rhule gets to do the us against the world thing.
While I desperately want Colorado to lose every game in every sport badly, Them winning was a blessing in disguise, we get credit for playing a team that is perceived better and puts the spotlight, pressure and hype on Colorado.

I bet if their defense plays better then the offense plays worse. I think Morris started last year for em before Duggan & I just don’t see anything special from him so unless they got another guy on the bench, probably going to have plenty of ups & downs. TCU is not a program that can lose a lot of talent & immediately reload, which is why I think the big 12 has teams like Baylor or Cockeye State or Kstate rise up & fall back down every year. Texas is going to roll if Oklahoma doesn’t come around

Oklahoma looked pretty good but Arkansas St could be extra special bad this year. Not sure.

So hard to tell after the 1st week. Almost like trying to judge a team off of a scrimmage.
Agreed. Honestly the big thing for me was the penalties. If TCU didn't have the 10 penalties I'd be a lot more forgiving of their 1st game performance. There's just no excuse for that when you're opening up at home.

Pro-CU people are saying TCU would destroy Minnesota. But I'm just not familiar with any teams winning on the road in the B1G while committing 10 penalties and 2 turnovers.

Hell, Nebraska has had some B1G road games where they committed half those miscues (say, 5 penalties and 1 turnover) and STILL struggled to win on the road at places like MN. I'm trying to understand how this TCU team could win a game like that while committing that amount of miscues - I just can't see it.

That's one vote for TCU and one vote for Minnesota so far!
I'd go Minnesota just on the fact that Minnesota's defense is way better than Colorado's. Colorado's DLine and linebackers looked like a jv team. Luckily TCU's didn't look much better.

BTW I should say, I'm planning to take CU -2.5.... but this line weirdness is making me at least think about it.

I like to fade the public when I see an opportunity & this would be a massive one (public like 90-10 on CU is my guess)
