POSTGAME NOTES: NEBRASKA AT RUTGERS (OCT. 7, 2022)

- With the win, Nebraska improved to 6-0 all-time against Rutgers, including a 5-0 record as Big Ten foes

- Nebraska rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit. The comeback was the 24th comeback of 13 or more points in school history and the seventh in a Big Ten Conference game

- The win was Nebraska's first win when trailing at the half since a 28-21 win at Rutgers on Dec. 18, 2020, when the Huskers trailed 14-7 at the half

- The win was also Nebraska's first win when trailing after three quarters since the Huskers erased a 14-point deficit in a 42-38 win at Illinois on Sept. 21, 2019. That win over Illinois was also the last time the Huskers came back to win when trailing by 13 or more points before tonight

- Nebraska's defense shut out Rutgers in the second half, marking the second straight game the Huskers have not allowed a point in the second half. Nebraska has now gone 83:59 of game time since allowing a point in the second half (3rd quarter touchdown by Oklahoma)

- Nebraska's three interceptions were a season high and marked the first time the Huskers intercepted three passes in a game since NU also had three picks against Fordham on Sept. 4, 2021

- Tight end Travis Vokolek caught a career-high six passes for 46 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown reception. It was Vokolek's first touchdown while playing at Nebraska. His previous touchdown was at Michigan State on Nov. 24, 2018, while he was playing for Rutgers. Vokolek's six catches was a career-high, bettering his previous career high of five. Vokolek spent two seasons at Rutgers in 2017 and 2018 before transferring to Nebraska.

- Cornerback Brandon Moore had a third-quarter interception, marking his first INT as a Husker and the third of his career. His previous interception was in 2018 while playng at UCF (vs. LSU in the Fiesta Bowl).

- Safety Myles Farmer intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter for his first interception of this season and fourth of his career. Farmer returned the pick 17 yards, setting up a go-ahead 27-yard touchdown pass on the next play.

- Cornerback Malcolm Hartzog sealed the win with his first career interception with 48 seconds left.

- Edge rusher Garrett Nelson had a career-high 11 tackles in the game, including 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Nelson had a career-best two sacks last week against Indiana

- Senior edge Caleb Tannor played in his 50th career game on Friday. The Nebraska record for games played is 56 by Cameron Meredith (2008-12).

- Tannor made four tackles in the game, giving him 101 career tackles

- Linebacker Luke Reimer had two pass breakups. Reimer has four pass breakups in the last two games and five this season. Before last week's game, Reimer had not posted more than one PBU in a game in his Husker career

- Casey Thompson threw for two touchdowns in the game. Thompson has thrown a touchdown pass in all six games this season. He is the first Husker to throw for a touchdown in each of the first six games, since Tommy Armstrong Jr. threw a touchdown pass in each of the first seven games in 2016.

- Running back Anthony Grant caught six passes for 34 yards, marking a career high in both receptions and receiving yards. Grant entered the game with three career receptions and 17 career receiving yards. He also rushed 19 times for 47 yards.

- Nebraska had 3.0 sacks against Rutgers after having multiple sacks against both Oklahoma and Indiana. This is the first time the Huskers had three straight games with multiple sacks since the first five games of the 2019 season.

- Receiver Trey Palmer caught four passes for 64 yards, eclipsing 1,000 career receiving yards (1,002). Palmer caught the game-winning 27-yard touchdown pass. He has caught a touchdown pass in three straight games. The last Husker to have a receiving touchdown in three straight games was JD Spielman in the final three games of the 2019 season.
