According to this guy with this post, Mike passed away. Still no official word from the Tater Island crew yet.

I didn't know he was having any health issues and I thought he was relatively still young.

If he did (once confirmed), he was a good writer. I actually liked him over all of the other football writers on RSS/Tater Island.

RIP, Mike.

Edited: Thread was sticked to the top, so confirmed.

That's a bummer.. I've been on that board since 2004, so always sad when someone passes.

He was paralyzed from the neck down. I assume it was related to complications from that. RIP, Mike.
Holy shit I had no idea about any health issues. Was that a recent thing or had he been paralyzed all along?

Awful news for his friends and family :(

That sucks. Really sorry to hear that.

One thing I respected about the guy was him coming out guns blazing after some losses last year and telling it like it is. He had a great post after a game last year (maybe Cockeye) where it got taken down by someone else on the Rivals NU team. He was the one guy on staff not towing the company line.

Think it was actually waist down but would still suck. His twitter profile didn't have him in a wheelchair so something in his adult life I think.
My recollection was that he dove into a pool that wasn't deep enough as a young man and broke his neck, but I saw that explanation once years ago
