And so it begins...(tracking Coach Prime decommits/transfers)

I think it's good that CU thinks it beat NU via a "heroic defensive effort", according to their own local reporters. Unfortunately I think it's mostly their fans who are delusional. I think Shedeur remembers Tony White. The fact that he referenced the Nebraska defense in an April press...

    Breaking What’s this?

I got some bad news for you: the Pinstripe Bowl berth won't make us any more or less relevant. Detroit Bowl nothing. Idaho Potato bowl nothing. Vegas Bowl does nothing. Making a bowl game will not be the magic fixer that NU fans are expecting it to be. They're useless now. To become a real...

    Breaking What’s this?

Probably so. And BTW, I'm not really celebrating the fact that we're so relevant. It's not really merit-based because we certainly haven't earned it on the field. NU is just lucky that the 2024 CFB landscape values things that we happen to be strong in: brand strength, online engagement...

It's Official - CU @ NU is Primetime on NBC

I like how wives freak out at the "drop everything for Husker football" when in reality it's only 12 days out of the 365 day calendar. Asking for 12 days out of 365 really should not be too much to ask. Tell your wife, "you're lucky I'm not an MLB fan, that would be 162 days out of the year -...

    Breaking What’s this?

That's not really true though. Nebraska is one of the most visible CFB programs in the country, in the current media/fan landscape. To say that Nebraska is irrelevant nationally is just not true. For Nebraska: the TV ratings are high, social media engagement metrics are sky-high, HC visibility...

    Breaking What’s this?

Also in Cockeye City: "Nebraska football is completely irrelevant on the national stage. No one talks about Nebraska. No even notices that Nebraska has a football team. It's like Nebraska FB doesn't exist" Yet we continue to be one of the most visible CFB programs in the country, bc of who we are...

It's Official - CU @ NU is Primetime on NBC

On that 09 loss at #13 VA Tech. I remember the ESPN GameDay crew doing the highlights later that day and Chris Fowler just sighed and went "Husker fans needed that win, it's been a looong time." As if 4-5 yrs between ranked wins was a long time. Or so we thought at the time. And here we are 15...

No I was agreeing with you. You're right....not only have the losses have been bad but the close wins at home vs lowly teams like McNeese State also are a contributing factor.

Ok fair enough! My argument was that this has been building since 2003 or so. NU fans gave experienced disappointment in high profile games at probably an 85% clip over that 20 yrs. That's why our crowd noise is where it is now. But the demons can be exorcised this season starting w the CU...

It's Official - CU @ NU is Primetime on NBC

Yeah....reminder: the original discussion was about the reasons for our home crowd malaise & why fans are a little gun shy now. And why our crowd noise sucks. The explanation was: they're jaded/cynical from all the losses in big games they've watched at Memorial Stadium over the last 20 yrs...

It's Official - CU @ NU is Primetime on NBC

Dude, you did not include the blowout losses in there!! No offense, but what you posted was 99% worthless and very biased to a pro-Pelini perspective. We had blowout losses to ranked and unranked teams every year in there and you magically left those out. My eye first went to "where's the...

It's Official - CU @ NU is Primetime on NBC

I thought that too but via Google OSU's own website had them #17 on the actual day of the game. They must have finished #10 at end of the season

Thx ....I remembered that Helu/Mizzou win but I couldn't remember if Mizzou was in the top 15 at the time. Was that the only top 10 team (ranked at time of game) that Pelini beat in his 7 seasons?
